To be educated is to be armed

What is the “European Qualifications Passport for Refugees”? Where can you get one?

The European Qualifications Passport for Refugees (EQPR) is a document that assesses refugees’ education, skills and work experience, even when they have no official documents. People fleeing war and danger are not always able to take their education certificates with them. The EQPR procedure was developed precisely to confirm their qualifications. The document can help refugees to:

• Prove their qualifications to potential employers and educational institutions.

• Gain easier access to education and employment in EU countries.

• Integrate into a new society.

Who can obtain an EQPR?

Refugees and asylum seekers who:

• Are 18 or older.

• Have no official documents of their education or qualifications.

• Can provide some evidence of their education, skills or work experience.

How do you obtain the EQPR / European Qualifications Passport for Refugees?

• Fill in the online application form.

• Provide any available evidence of your education, skills or work experience (scan whatever documents you have: identity documents, photos, diplomas, certificates, CV, employment record book… anything related to your education that has survived).

• Take part in an interview with an assessment expert.

• Receive your EQPR if your application is successful.

• You can contact us.

The EQPR does not legalise your education certificate, but it is a valuable tool that can help you rebuild your life in Europe. It contains information that will help you find a job, do an internship or continue your studies.

The EQPR has become necessary for Ukrainian health professionals to be employed in Italy under Art.34 del Decreto-legge 21.03.2022 n.21 (Decree-Law)
