Aims of the CNAUI Department of Strategic Communications

  • Strengthening the Ukrainian information space in Italy and Europe – pooling the associations’ efforts, coordinating actions, building a single communication strategy.
  • Countering Russian propaganda — monitoring hostile information influence, responding to cases of pro-Russian propaganda, public statements, information campaigns.
  • Supporting Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilian hostages — raising awareness of captivity, solidarity actions, appeals to international institutions.
  • Communication with international bodies and state institutions — cooperation with associations, ministries, the European Parliament, the UN, the Ukrainian World Congress and the European Congress of Ukrainians.
  • Building a positive image of Ukraine through culture and education — cultural events, exhibitions, fashion, children’s projects, spreading the truth about Ukraine’s history.

UKRAINE’S DAY OF UNITY. A flash mob of unity and solidarity in Italy.

20–27 February 2025

“Unbreakable Ukraine. The March of the Unbreakable” project (for the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion):

  • a single slogan and shared messages;
  • support for the Petition to the UN;
  • the support of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, during the events;
  • 15 associations took part.

  • We are launching an initiative to support Ukrainian political prisoners held in Russian penal colonies.
    This project is a fight to free Ukrainian civilian hostages from Russian captivity.
  • “Writing Letters to Ukrainian Political Prisoners”
  • “Please, Free the Birds” art project
  • We set up the working group “The Birds Are Coming Home”, which brings together everyone ready to become a voice for the innocent prisoners.
  • Aim: to draw the world’s attention to the tragedy of Ukrainian hostages through art and public visibility.

24 August 2025

Preparation of and participation in the international live link-up “With Gratitude for Independence”.

  • (Communication and organisational work with representatives of the “STUR” association, the NGO “Free Civilians”, the NGO “Burevii”, the families of prisoners of war and missing persons of the 17th Tank Brigade (Kursk direction) and the NGO “Velyka Danylivka”.)

12–14 September 2025

CNAUI took part in the first European Conference for Freedom and Democracy, organised by Pina Picierno’s team.

  • The Department of Strategic Communications created an information campaign and handled the cooperation with the NGO “Free Civilians” and the organisation of its representatives’ trip
  • CNAUI President Lara Levchun drew up and presented a petition for the protection of Ukraine’s children, “Where People Listen, Peace Is Born”

24 September 2025

Participation in an online webinar for Ukrainians in Italy, held on the initiative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.

19 November 2025

Organisation and running of the interactive forum “Protect the Children – Protect the Future” together with the European Parliament Office in Italy, in Rome (project lead: Nataliia Malykh).

22 November 2025

Online participation in the flash mob “Light a Candle of Remembrance”, dedicated to the Holodomor Remembrance Day.
