On 9 June we welcome Ukrainian veterans to Milan!
Our defenders are coming to Milan: they have lost limbs and suffered severe wounds, yet today they fight on, this time on the sporting front. In the words of the project, “every member of the team is a veteran with amputations or severe wounds… today they are preparing for an international competition, training four times a week”.
They are coming to represent Ukraine at the international Oceanman Lago d’Orta 2026 race.

On 13 and 14 June Lake Orta will host an extraordinary challenge:
five Ukrainian veterans wounded in the war will take part in the international Oceanman Lago d’Orta 2026 race, swimming 2 km and 5.5 km in open water, with no separate category.
These men have lost limbs and suffered severe wounds, but they have not lost their strength or their will to live.
Through sport they show that courage knows no limits.
