On 24 August Ukraine marks the 35th anniversary of its independence — a date that carries a different weight today: more painful, and yet stronger than ever.

For every Ukrainian, this day has become personal. It is about memory, about struggle, about the choice to be free — a choice our country has made throughout its history.

Ukraine has always fought for the right to be united and independent.

In the darkest hour, the finest of the nation rose to defend the country — and its future rests on our unity, our resilience and our support for one another.

Five years of Russia’s full-scale invasion have exposed the weak spots for all the world to see: the hesitancy of some partners, processes that drag on, and the lack of a common line precisely where one is critically needed!

Ukraine is convinced: Russia must be punished and held accountable for its crimes against our people.

Despite every challenge, we are deeply grateful to our partners and friends for the support they continue to give Ukraine.

It means a great deal to us to find true friends among Italians — people whose help, humanity and dedication amaze and inspire us.

A faith that holds us together.

We believe in Ukraine’s victory.

We believe in fruitful cooperation with our friends and partners.

We believe in Europe — in its unity, its resolve and its resilience in the face of the challenges that will shape the future of the entire continent.

Member associations of the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy (CNAUI) are preparing a series of events for the Independence Day of Ukraine in regions across Italy.

They include cultural events, solidarity actions, and meetings with communities and partners — everything that helps preserve Ukrainian identity, strengthen unity and remind the world of the value of freedom.

We stand with Ukraine!
