Anniversary of the 1945 Liberation from Nazism and Fascism

On 25 April Italy celebrates the anniversary of its liberation from Nazism and Fascism in 1945…

This national holiday is called Festa della Liberazione (Liberation Day), or simply “il 25 aprile”. It is a symbolic date, marking the recovery of freedom and democracy and the beginning of the path towards the Republic.

These ideals are close and dear to Ukrainians too, so I invite everyone to take part in the events organised by local municipalities, or simply to visit the graves of the fallen in person…

It is our way of keeping Ukraine in people’s minds and of honouring all those who gave their lives for freedom…

How to take part:

1. Lay wreaths and flowers with blue-and-yellow ribbons at monuments or memorial plaques, with a dedication from your association on the ribbon, and take a photo.

2. On 25 April, join the march organised by your municipality, with placards bearing slogans on a blue-and-yellow background, and take a photo.

3. Send photos (more than one) or short videos of both events, stating the city, to dip.stratcom.congresso.uait@gmail.com by 26 April, so that they can be put together in a joint video.
