Give an Emotion

Run by: Department of Culture

“Give an Emotion” charity project

The Department of Culture of the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy (CNAUI), together with the “Bridge of Colours” project, is launching the CHARITY PROJECT “GIVE AN EMOTION”

The initiative aims to support Ukrainian service members undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in hospitals in Ukraine.

Art has the power to heal. Even when we cannot always help financially, we can do the most precious thing of all — pass on warmth, gratitude and support through creativity. A painting becomes a sign of presence, a sign of remembrance, a sign of love.

– says Liudmylka Horbachyk, curator and head of CNAUI’s Department of Culture

How to take part

  • 1 painting per artist;
  • a signature and a warm message for the soldiers (for example: “We are with you. We are by your side.”).

The donated works will stay in the hospitals as lasting support for those who are being treated, recovering and in need of inner light.

Logistics

The paintings will be delivered centrally, through trusted project representatives, directly to military hospitals.

“Give an Emotion” is a quiet but constant form of gratitude.

It is our presence beside those who defend Ukraine.

It is the language of colour, which speaks louder than words.

Project LAUNCH

The “Colour after Black” campaign, 24 February 2026, European Parliament Office

As part of the event “Ukraine and the Defence of Europe”, organised by the European Parliament Office in Italy in cooperation with the Representation of the European Commission in Italy, the Italian publication Linkiesta and the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy (CNAUI), the project will be officially launched.

The project brings together Ukrainian artists who will create a series of works devoted to life, rebirth and inner strength. Each painting will carry a short personal message to the soldiers — words of support, gratitude and faith.

The finished works will be handed over to the hospitals and will stay there as a permanent part of the space. They will hang on walls that witness tears, courage and hope every day.

An artist’s painting is warmth.
It is colour where there is pain.
It is light where people are learning to walk again. To believe again. To live again.

The war has taken a great deal. But it has not been able to take from Ukrainians their ability to feel, to empathise and to support one another.

Art is not only aesthetics.
It is support.
It is gratitude.
It is love.

The “Colour after Black” campaign sets out to create a space of human warmth in hospitals — a reminder that beyond pain there is life, and that after black, colour is always born.

This is the first event of the large-scale project “GIVE AN EMOTION”
