1,000-euro Bonus Spesa in October 2024: eligibility and how to apply

In October 2024 the Italian government announced a new Bonus Spesa (grocery bonus) to support families facing economic hardship. The bonus is worth up to 1,000 euros per family and is intended to cover spending on food and medicines.
Who can apply:
- Families with an ISEE (household income and assets indicator) of up to 10,000 euros.
- At least one dependent child.
- Priority will be given to single-income families and to those that include unemployed or economically vulnerable people.
How to apply:
You can apply online on the website of INPS (National Social Security Institute) after logging in, attaching the required income documents and an identity document. It is important to check that you meet all the requirements, so as to avoid being refused.
How the bonus is paid:
The bonus will be paid in different ways, depending on your family situation:
- A prepaid card for purchases in participating shops.
- Digital grocery vouchers.
- A transfer to your bank account.
The bonus can be used from January to February 2025.
