Have you been living in Italy for a long time and are you tired of constantly waiting for your permesso di soggiorno (residence permit) to be renewed? You can obtain Italian citizenship and forget about the permesso di soggiorno once and for all!

Who can apply for Italian citizenship:
Italian citizenship is granted on the basis of specific criteria. There are 4 ways to obtain it, and the requirements are set out in Law 91/1992 (legge n.91/1992), namely:

– by residence, i.e. through naturalisation (cittadinanza italiana per residenza);

– by marriage to an Italian citizen (cittadinanza per matrimonio);

– by birth (cittadinanza per nascita);

– by operation of law (cittadinanza per beneficio di legge).
