On 16–17 March 2026, Warsaw hosted the 2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference “Ukrainian as a Foreign Language in Poland”, which brought together leading scholars, educators, linguists and representatives of European institutions. Organised with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland and the Pylyp Orlyk Foundation, the event addressed the current challenges of teaching Ukrainian outside Ukraine, particularly in the context of war and large-scale migration. The conference was initiated and its organising committee chaired by Dr Pavlo Levchuk, a researcher of the Ukrainian language in Poland and a research fellow at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy (CNAUI) also took part in the event.

Tetiana Hryhorska, Head of the CNAUI Department of Education, presented the long-term international initiative “100×100: Bridges of Education”, focusing on the project’s role in promoting the Ukrainian language in Italy. Aimed at building partnerships between Ukrainian and Italian schools, the project is an example of contemporary cultural diplomacy.
