Financial support and bonuses in Italy for refugees from Ukraine

The Italian welfare system offers financial assistance (bonuses or economic benefits) to individuals and families who need help and meet certain requirements. So if you are a migrant or a refugee with a regular residence permit (permesso di soggiorno), with insufficient financial resources, with children or with a disability, you may be entitled to an income support measure.

Bonuses can vary from region to region and even from one municipality (Comune) to another.

If you have applied for temporary protection in Italy and have managed to find accommodation on your own (for example, if you are staying with family or friends), you can apply for the “contributo di sostentamento Ucraina” (subsistence allowance for Ukraine), a bonus of €300 per adult, €150 per child. The allowance is a one-off payment and is paid for a maximum of 3 months. You can also receive the bonus if you are in a reception centre but live independently for at least 10 days a month. You can apply for this bonus only once. You must apply online, entering your tax code (codice fiscale), phone number and e-mail address. You will receive an SMS when the bonus is ready. You can collect it at any post office by showing your receipt (ricevuta) or your temporary protection permit, together with an identity document.
At this link you can find more information about the bonus.
