What is Personale ATA?

ATA stands for Amministrativo, Tecnico e Ausiliario: the administrative, technical and auxiliary staff of Italian state schools. The secretariat, the laboratories, looking after pupils, keeping the building running — everything that makes a school work besides teaching itself. These roles do not require a teaching degree: each profile has its own education requirements.

Working in an Italian school is not only about teaching.

Professions in the school

The programme focuses on the main ATA staff profiles.

  • Collaboratore Scolastico

Auxiliary staff in the school premises: supervision, order, accompanying pupils.

  • Assistente Amministrativo

Administrative support for the school: secretariat, paperwork, contact with families.

  • Assistente Tecnico

Technical support and laboratories: equipment, IT, workshops.

Is this programme for me?

The programme is for Ukrainians living in Italy who want to understand how the Italian school works and how to enter it.

  • Ukrainians in Italy

For those already living here and considering a job in the public sector.

  • Those looking for stable work

The school is one of the most predictable employers in Italy.

  • Those who value education

Working alongside children, teachers and families — inside the school, not on its margins.

The requirements for taking part in the competition (citizenship, residence permit, education) are set by the official call — the bando. We explain them in the programme and promise nothing the bando does not confirm.

Two paths — one goal

The Italian school opens different doors. ATA is a real and accessible one.

Docente

Docente

Teaching your subject — for those going through recognition of a Ukrainian teaching qualification.

ATA

ATA

Administrative, technical and auxiliary work — an alternative way into the school system, often with lower entry requirements.

Italian school

Working as ATA staff you are already part of the system and build up service while the more complex recognition of a teaching qualification continues. The programme does not guarantee employment — it prepares you for the competition.

Which documents do you need?

Which documents are needed, how to prepare them and what to pay attention to.

  • Education document

Your Ukrainian school certificate or diploma — the starting point for any competition.

  • Recognition of the qualification: CIMEA

The Attestato di Comparabilità is requested online through the DiploMe platform; in our experience the most convenient route.

  • Dichiarazione di Valore

The alternative route, through the Embassy of Italy in Ukraine.

  • Other required documents

What exactly the current bando requires — mandatory and recommended — we go through in the programme.

The final list and the requirements are set by the official call. Until it is published we phrase things carefully and state nothing that is not yet confirmed.

Frequently asked questions

Who can take part in the programme?

The programme is open to Ukrainians living in Italy. The requirements for the ATA competition itself are set by the official call (bando); we explain them in the first weeks of the programme.

Do I need recognition of my diploma (CIMEA)?

The competition requires an education document with recognition. In our experience the most convenient route is the CIMEA Attestato di Comparabilità via DiploMe; the alternative is the Dichiarazione di Valore. What is mandatory is stated by the current bando.

What is the format of the classes?

The format, the schedule and how to access the classes will be sent to registered participants by email.

How much does it cost?

Participation is free. A donation in support of the programme is voluntary and does not affect participation in any way.

Does the programme guarantee a job?

No. The programme prepares you for an informed, well-prepared participation in the competition; hiring decisions are made by the Italian system on the basis of the competition results.
