From Manfredonia to Vinnytsia: a story of support and friendship

100×100: Мости освіти#100×100

Scuola Giordani di Manfredonia – Lyceum No. 12, Vinnytsia

During the first online meeting of the “100×100: Bridges of Education” project, pupils of the Giordani School (Manfredonia, Italy) learned that students at Vinnytsia Lyceum No. 12 were collecting plastic bottle caps as part of a charity initiative.

The Italian pupils were so inspired by the idea that they decided to join the collection. Together with their teachers, they organised a bottle-cap collection at their own school to support their Ukrainian peers and their initiative.

The caps they had collected were then sent from Italy to Vinnytsia as a symbol of solidarity and friendship between the two schools.

In return, students at Vinnytsia Lyceum No. 12 recorded a thank-you video for their Italian friends, in which they said:

“Thank you so much for your warm gifts and your kindness! We are touched by your support 🙏❤️”

This story is yet another example of how a simple introduction between schools can grow into genuine mutual support and friendship between pupils from different countries.
