In September 2022 an ambulance from Ukraine, hit by hundreds of bullets and by shrapnel from Russian missiles, crossed the whole of Ukraine and was then put on display as a symbol of the war in many European countries, including Luxembourg, Belgium, England, Austria and Slovakia. The vehicle is part of the “UCRAINE IS CALLING” campaign, launched by the Luxembourg non-profit “LUkraine” to raise funds for 112 new ambulances for Ukraine. Since April this year it has been touring Italian cities.
The Coordination Centre of Ukrainian Associations in Italy took the initiative to bring the shot-up ambulance to Italy. Besides being a reminder of the horrors of a war being fought right next door, the exhibition has a mission: to touch hearts deeply and to awaken consciences!
This ambulance reminds us of the weight of the lies the Kremlin uses as a tool to manipulate public opinion. It is evidence of the brutal mass killings committed by the Russian army against Ukrainian civilians, the latest on the list of horrors being the children’s hospital in Kyiv.
The Coordination Centre, which brings together more than 30 Ukrainian associations and communities in Italy, has organised a tour of Italy from 1 August to 30 September this year, and there will be a chance to see with your own eyes the evidence of Russia’s crimes against humanity.
In Naples the ambulance will be on display in Piazza Municipio on 24 and 25 August, to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day. The event is organised by the PHOENIX association.

The President of the Coordination Centre, Lara Levchun, makes an appeal:
“The solidarity we are asking for is your help in finding funds for the most worthy of causes: bringing aid to those who need it, so as to try to lessen the horrors of these vile acts against civilians. Every single contribution, however small, will be like a drop that feeds a river, a river that will eventually reach the sea, carrying hope and relief with it. Join us in this effort. Together we can make a difference; together we can turn our drops into a sea of solidarity and practical help. Your support is vital. Thank you for being part of this important journey of humanity and compassion.”
Ukraine needs your help now.
Let us stand by the Ukrainian people at this difficult time.
TOGETHER WE CAN DO A GREAT DEAL.
