Threads of Fate and Rhymes of the Heart: Halyna between Ukraine and Italy

Halyna Andrusyshyn is a woman whose life has been rich and inspired. Born in the village of Dychky in the Rohatyn area, she completed eight years of schooling and went on to study at a vocational school for tailoring in Ivano-Frankivsk. She later trained as a specialist at the Kyiv Republican Technological College.
Throughout her life Halyna has worked in clothing design and garment making. She taught tailoring at Vocational School No. 35 in Rohatyn and at Rohatyn College. Her career led her to found her own small clothing workshop and, from 2004 to 2009, to work with factories in Lviv.
For the past fifteen years she has lived in Italy. She now works for a haute couture house in Florence, bringing her craft to the world of couture.
Halyna is an active member of the All-Ukrainian Poetic Family (VPR) and one of the founders of the literary and artistic society “Zhuravli” (“The Cranes”). She is the author of four poetry collections:
“PRIMROSE”
“UNDER THE SAILS OF TIME”
“LET THE WORD OVERCOME UNREST”
“LIKE A CRANE I FLY TO YOU”
Halyna is also a member of the Lilea association in Florence, which actively represents Ukraine through culture. Through joint events, artistic initiatives and open dialogue, its members seek to convey the truth about the Ukrainian people to the Italian community: the truth about the strength, dignity and depth of our culture.
In her free time Halyna enjoys embroidery and creative projects. She is currently making masks together with her son, combining family ties with creativity.
