In 2026, the faithful of the Holy Trinity personal parish of the Apostolic Exarchate in Caserta joined the nationwide Banco Farmaceutico initiative. Parishioners who, alongside fasting and prayer, constantly strive to support Ukrainian soldiers took part in a project run by the Fondazione Banco Farmaceutico to collect medicines for Ukraine’s defenders.
The parish priest, Fr Ihor Danylchuk, stressed:
“We cannot stand idle while Ukraine bleeds in this war and our soldiers turn to us for support.”
As part of the initiative, the most active parishioners took turns at the San Rocco Pizzuti pharmacy in Caserta, inviting customers to buy medicines for Ukrainian soldiers. Thanks to their dedication and the generosity of Italians, medicines worth more than €3,000 were collected.
The initiative was made possible through cooperation with the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy (CNAUI) APS, chaired by Lara Levchun, with the pharmacy’s director, Dr Antonio Pensilio, and with Tina Raucci, the Fondazione Banco Farmaceutico’s territorial delegate for the province of Caserta, who provided full organisational support.
Special thanks go to Mauro Galli, who is responsible for partnerships with corporate philanthropy at Banco Farmaceutico, for giving our community the opportunity to take part. The cooperation with him, which began at an online meeting, was an important step towards involving Ukrainian volunteers on a regular, structured basis.
All the organisational work was carried out flawlessly and with a great sense of responsibility, while the collection of medicines was expertly coordinated by Oksana Kuzminska, director of the Ukrainian Caritas “Sant’Anna” in Caserta, who ensured smooth cooperation between the volunteers, the pharmacy and the initiative’s partners.
We sincerely thank all the volunteers who took part in the collection:
