Launch of the international campaign “Give the Mayor a Flag”

1 June marks the official launch of the international campaign “Give the Mayor a Flag”, a key stage of the international project “Brotherhood Across Borders”.

The initiative is run by the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy (CNAUI) as part of its long-running solidarity campaign “Sto con Ucraina” (“I Stand with Ukraine”), now in its third year.

The “Brotherhood Across Borders” project serves as an official bridge for direct, decentralised communication between Ukrainian and Italian administrations, bypassing cumbersome bureaucracy. As of 1 June 2026, 274 Ukrainian public administrations are registered on the platform.

The main aim of the “Give the Mayor a Flag” campaign is to turn symbolic gestures of support into lasting partnerships and real help for communities.

How to take part

The National Congress calls on new partners to register, which is mandatory.

Registration: all new administrations and communities must register on the Congress’s official platform via the congressouait.com website HERE.

Once registered, the administration will receive an email setting out the procedure, with the phone numbers of the coordinators of the regional Ukrainian hometown associations (zemliatstva), as well as a presentation of the campaign.

Later on, all participants in the “Brotherhood Across Borders” project will have access to the internal communication channels of the Congress’s Department of International Cooperation (headed by Oksana Rohova).
