Broadening horizons of cooperation: a meeting with CIDCI for shared development

On 23 March 2024 Lara Levchun, President of the Coordination Centre of Ukrainian Associations in Italy, took part in a meeting organised by CIDCI (Coordinamento Italiano delle Diaspore per la Cooperazione Internazionale).
CIDCI is an important third-level diaspora organisation that came into being following the introduction of Law 125/2014 and took shape through the “National Diaspora Summit”.
CIDCI grew out of the cooperation of nine regional networks of diaspora associations, with the aim of promoting the knowledge and skills of diasporas in development cooperation.
The participation of the President of the Coordination Centre of Ukrainian Associations in this meeting was an important step for the Ukrainian diaspora in Italy. She noted the active and constructive nature of the discussions, which focused on cooperation between diasporas for shared development.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of openness and dialogue, which allowed Lara Levchun and the other participants to share their views and proposals on cooperation and joint initiatives. An important outcome is a plan of next steps to improve cooperation between the Ukrainian diaspora and CIDCI in the future.
We are confident that working together with CIDCI will open up new opportunities for the Ukrainian diaspora in Italy and support joint efforts towards development.
