The Coordination Centre of Ukrainian Associations continues its work on the integration of Ukrainians in Italy. On 23 April, with the participation of the President of the Coordination Centre of Ukrainian Associations, Lara Levchun, an online meeting was held with representatives of CIMEA.
The meeting gave those taking part valuable information on the ways to have qualifications recognised and confirmed in Italy.
CIMEA (Centro Informazione Mobilità Equivalenze Accademiche) is an information centre belonging to the ENIC/NARIC network (the European Network of National Information Centres on Academic Recognition and the Network of National Academic Recognition Information Centres). CIMEA provides services for the recognition and verification of foreign education documents.
On the CIMEA website you can find useful information:
- Instructions for applying for an Attestato di Corrispondenza
- The list of documents required for the application
- The cost of CIMEA services, ARDI
- Links to other resources on the recognition of foreign qualifications
The meeting stressed that there is no universal formula for the recognition of a higher education diploma: you need to be clear about why you are starting the recognition process in the first place. For example, the CIMEA certificate is an intermediate step towards the legalisation of your diplomas at the university of your choice (riconoscimento accademico, academic recognition); it is a document that helps to confirm your educational qualification.
Participants learned how to apply to CIMEA, how to pay for its services and which documents are needed. The moderators also answered participants’ questions on the recognition and verification of education documents in Italy. There were a great many questions, and for technical reasons not everyone interested was able to connect. That is why a further meeting in Ukrainian is planned, where we will go through all the details: how to obtain the CIMEA certificate, what this document is for, who can get it free of charge, and more.
