A delegation from the town of Lanivtsi (Ternopil Oblast) is in Italy on a working visit at the invitation of the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy (CNAUI).
The Mayor of Lanivtsi, Roman Kaznovetskyi, and Deputy Mayor Oleh Kazmirchuk visited Italy, an important step towards broadening international partnership.
The delegation’s stay began with a joint prayer organised by Father Ihor Horishnyi. The town’s Ukrainian community gave its compatriots a warm welcome, in a spirit of unity and solidarity.
The meeting with the Mayor of Mondragone, Francesco Lavanga, attended by representatives of the Ukrainian community, marked a further important stage in developing the partnership between the two municipalities.
A declaration of intent on twinning was discussed, laying the groundwork for further cooperation between the towns.
CNAUI President Lara Levchun stressed that only through genuine unity between the Church, the community and the associations can we effectively represent Ukrainian local authorities in Italy.
Synergy between different fields of activity creates real opportunities for partnership, opening the way to international projects, the exchange of experience and the attraction of European investment.
The meeting with Lorenzo Corvino was an opportunity to outline prospects for cooperation and to broaden collaboration in various fields.
Cultural initiatives play a key role in strengthening Ukrainian identity abroad.
A particularly valuable contribution has come from Antonina Dubchak, who has been running art classes for children in Italy since the start of the full-scale war. Thanks to her efforts, more than 20 children are learning to create beauty, develop their talents and preserve their national culture.
At the meeting, Mrs Antonina shared stories of her young artists, showing how art helps children feel connected to their country even when they are far from home.
