Mariia Chepukh – A Craftswoman Who Creates Soulful Masterpieces

Mariia Heorhiivna Chepukh is a woman who weaves magic into every piece she makes. She was born in the Vyzhnytsia district of the Chernivtsi region and has loved the art of knitting since childhood. Her talent showed itself even before she learned to read or write. Knitting became her path in life, one in which thread turns into a story and hands into an instrument for creating beauty.
After leaving school, Mariia enrolled at Chernivtsi Vocational School No. 5, an art college where she learned the finer points of upholstering soft furniture. Life, however, took a different turn: she travelled, worked and discovered new horizons. And since 2008 her fate has been intertwined with Italy.

“Thanks to Italy, I have been able to achieve a great deal,” Mariia says.
It was here that she was able to develop her talent even further. In 2012 she fell in love with tatting (frivolité), the art of making fine, delicate lace. This form of needlework became a true source of joy for her.

Mariia does not confine herself to a single field. Her work is striking in its variety:

Elegant accessories that carry you back to the past while remaining just as relevant today.

Original decorative pieces for the home that make any space feel cosy.

Handmade jewellery of her own design that reflects her inner world and the harmony of nature.

“I work in many different techniques and cannot choose just one, because each of them is special to me,” the craftswoman says. And that is exactly what makes her work unique: every piece, whether lace, a knitted trim or an original decorative item, is filled with genuine emotion.

Mariia’s works are not simply objects; they are a soul put into every single stitch. Anyone who holds these masterpieces can feel the warmth of her hands, her love for her craft and her respect for tradition.

“Art is a way of expressing your thoughts and emotions, of giving a piece of yourself to the world,” Mariia observes.

Today we have the honour of telling the story of this talented woman, who through her creativity connects cultures, eras and people. Her work is an inspiration and true proof of how talent can become a bridge between different worlds.
