At the first online meeting with representatives of the Coordination Centre of Ukrainian Associations (COORDINAMENTO UNITARIO), an official introduction took place with representatives of the European Congress of Ukrainians (ECU).

Bohdan Raichynets, President of the ECU and head of the organisation “Ukrainian Initiative in the Czech Republic”, is a recognised leader of the Ukrainian movement in Europe and has been actively involved in humanitarian aid for Ukraine and for refugees since Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Myroslav Hochak (Serbia) and Viktor Bandurchyn (Slovakia) also joined the meeting. After the presentation, each participant gave a brief overview of their work and interests, giving a sense of the wide range of expertise and of possible directions for future cooperation.

The main purpose of the meeting was to get acquainted and identify the most promising areas for further cooperation between the Coordination Centre of Ukrainian Associations and the ECU. Participants discussed holding regular online meetings to strengthen ties and ensure an effective exchange of information. Interest was also expressed in setting up mechanisms for ongoing engagement, encouraging a fruitful exchange of ideas and the delivery of joint projects.

The meeting ended with a discussion of next steps and plans for cooperation, including the possibility of drafting a document to formalise the cooperation between the participants. The online format made it possible to discuss the issues and work through the tasks efficiently.
