On 21 May the Coordination Centre of Ukrainian Associations in Italy held its second meeting on taking part in the state ATA 2024 concorso (public competitive examination), which will select ATA staff (the administrative, technical and auxiliary staff of Italian schools) to be hired for the school years 2024/2025, 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 in Italian schools under the Ministry of Education and Merit.
Who can take part in the ATA concorso?
The bando (call for applications) for the terza fascia (the third tier) will be open to Italian citizens and citizens of the European Union aged between 18 and 66.
For now, there is no provision for candidates holding a residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) to take part; we will have to wait for the bando to be published.

General requirements for the ATA 2024 terza fascia concorso
Ukrainians who were educated in Ukraine need an EQUIVALENZA (recognition of their qualification as equivalent) to apply for a school staff position.
The purpose of this procedure is to assess whether a foreign qualification is equivalent to the Italian one required for a particular concorso.
How is the score in the ATA graduatorie calculated?
The score in the ATA graduatorie (ranking lists) takes into account the years of service already completed and whether the candidate holds a relevant qualification.
That is why first-time applicants must obtain the certificate before the bando’s closing date.
