On 3 September 2026, online, the International Education Forum “Ukrainian Identity in the European Educational Space: From Challenges to Shared Solutions” will take place. Traditionally held at the start of the new school year by the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy together with “Tvoya Shkola”, a private online school for children from Ukraine, the event will be a key forum for discussing the future of Ukrainian education and culture abroad.
Representatives of the Embassy and Consulate of Ukraine in Italy and of the Apostolic Exarchate have been invited to this year’s Forum. Participants include representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
This year’s Forum builds on the systematic international work and the educational and cultural activities the Congress began in 2024, and aims to take the Congress’s work to a European level. It will bring together representatives of Ukrainian state authorities, academic and educational institutions, and civil society organisations from various countries that already work with the Congress or are looking for partners for international projects.
Key objectives and aims of the Forum
- • Sharing experience: presenting successful cases and initiatives aimed at preserving the national identity of Ukrainians abroad.
- • Meeting the challenges: discussing how to align educational standards with European requirements and integrate Ukrainian institutions into the European space.
- • Practical solutions: drafting and adopting the “Strategy for the Preservation and Development of the National and Cultural Values of the Ukrainian Community Abroad”, which will complement the work of the European Dialogue Platform launched by the Congress.
The organisers invite educators, researchers, and representatives of civil society and the media who work on the European integration of Ukrainian education and on support for Ukrainian communities worldwide to take part.
