Volodymyr Sandiuk: A Master Artist Who Unites Ukraine and Italy

Volodymyr Serhiiovych Sandiuk is a distinguished Ukrainian artist whose work has become a bridge between the culture of his native Ukraine and that of Italy, where he lived for a time and developed his talent.
Born in Ivano-Frankivsk on 23 April 1970, he began his path in art at the Kosiv Technical College of Folk Arts and Crafts, where he mastered the traditions of decorative and applied art. He then completed his studies at the Lviv Academy of Arts, which laid the foundation for his development as an artist.
A member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and a winner of the Lukavetskyi Prize, Volodymyr was awarded the high title of Honoured Artist of Ukraine for his significant contribution to national culture. Today he works at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, where he teaches in the Department of Fine, Decorative and Applied Arts and Restoration, passing on his knowledge to young talent.

For a time Sandiuk lived in Rome, and the city became an important chapter in his artistic life. He worked closely with the artists of Piazza Navona, a historic centre of artistic life and inspiration. His watercolours of Rome and other historic Italian cities were popular with clients, who saw in them a harmonious blend of technical skill and depth of feeling.

A versatile artist, Volodymyr Sandiuk works in several media: oil painting, watercolour and graphic art. His works stand out for their refined detail, emotional expressiveness and a search for new forms to convey the beauty of the world.

Volodymyr Sandiuk’s work shows how art can tell stories, erase borders and build peaceful dialogue between peoples. His works are the voice of Ukraine, resounding across the world and touching people’s hearts.

The “Un Ponte di Colori” (“A Bridge of Colours”) project shows how art can overcome barriers and create unexpected connections.
