Congress#Main events

On 17 May 2024, Tropea, Calabria, hosted a landmark event for the Ukrainian community in Italy: for the first time in the province’s history, a mobile consular service was organised.

Thanks to the joint work of three associations – Sguardo Amico, Famiglie In-attesa and Svitanok – Ukrainians forced by the war to leave their homeland were able to obtain international passports, notarial deeds and other consular services.

The Consul General of Ukraine in Naples, Maksym Kovalenko, came to Tropea in person to support the initiative and talk with Ukrainians.

Special thanks go to Solomiia Misiur, who helped Ukrainians prepare the necessary documents with remarkable professionalism and dedication. Her support and clear instructions made this complex process much simpler for many people.

We must also mention Stanislav Shevchenko, head of the “Svitanok” association, who has long provided all-round support to the Ukrainian community in Italy. His active involvement in this event is further proof of his commitment and his sincere wish to help his fellow Ukrainians.

The mobile consular service in Tropea was a significant event for Ukrainians living in the province. It not only enabled them to obtain the documents they needed but also brought everyone together, giving a sense of support at this difficult time.
