The associations and Ukrainian communities that signed the Memorandum of Cooperation of 24 August 2023 and were part of the Coordination Centre of Ukrainian Associations in Italy have, after a year of intensive work, firmly reaffirmed how vital it is to unite the Ukrainian diaspora in Italy by strengthening the ties and cooperation between its many organisations.
This spirit of unity led to the founding of the “Congress of Ukrainians in Italy”, an important instrument for representing and defending the shared interests of the Ukrainian community in the country.

The Congress of Ukrainians in Italy is the single coordinating centre for the various Ukrainian associations and communities, as well as for the individuals and legal entities committed to defending freedom of association, regarded as the first fundamental freedom of a democratic system. Its mission is to foster unity among the different members of the Ukrainian diaspora, to preserve and promote Ukrainian culture and traditions, to support the integration of Ukrainians into Italian society, and to defend their rights and interests at national and European level. Through dialogue and joint action, the Congress of Ukrainians in Italy seeks to represent the Ukrainian community collectively, serving as a platform for cooperation and mutual support.
The Congress currently brings together 31 members.
Lara Levchun was elected President of the Congress, and Oksana Rohova Vice-President.
The Congress’s representative in Ukraine is Vadym Sydiachenko.
