Memorandum of Cooperation with the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration

The Chernivtsi Regional State Administration and the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy (CNAUI) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The document lays the legal groundwork for partnerships between the territorial communities of Bukovyna and municipalities in the Italian Republic.
It is an important step towards a lasting international partnership, closer cooperation between municipalities and joint projects in a range of fields.
The Memorandum was signed on behalf of the head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration by Oksana Sakriier, deputy head of the Regional Military Administration. CNAUI was represented at the ceremony by its President, Larysa Levchun, and by Larysa Vatrych, who coordinates the cooperation with the Chernivtsi region.
At the signing, both sides expressed confidence that the Memorandum will lay the foundation for a successful partnership between communities and open up new opportunities to share experience, secure international support and carry out important initiatives.
🔹 Under the agreement, the parties plan to hold joint events, online meetings and working visits, and to support international projects aimed at developing territorial communities and strengthening the Ukrainian-Italian partnership.
The Congress already cooperates officially with 10 regional state administrations in Ukraine. This work is coordinated by the Congress’s Department of International Cooperation, headed by Oksana Rohova, while Nataliia Nevelenna coordinates the “Brotherhood Across Borders” project.
Main areas of work
Representing the interests of regional and city administrations in the Italian Republic, CNAUI prepares and implements agreements and initiatives aimed at:
- Building a positive image of Ukrainian cities and regions in Italy and internationally.
- Establishing contacts between Ukrainian and Italian organisations and businesses.
- Helping Ukrainian companies take part in international exhibitions, trade fairs and conferences in Italy.
- Drawing on funding and programmes of the European Union for joint projects in the communities, businesses and institutions of cities and regions.
- Introducing European practices, drawing on Italian experience to develop Ukrainian cities.
- Providing legal assistance to Ukrainian businesses and citizens in Italy.
- Fostering cultural and educational ties between schools, art schools, and arts and sports groups, and involving them in international events.
- Running youth, gender-equality and children’s programmes in education and social development.
- Running an information campaign across the media, social networks and advertising platforms to promote joint programmes and build a shared information space.
The Congress continues to work on strengthening international ties and expanding cooperation between Ukraine and Italy!
The Department of International Cooperation works to build ties between Ukraine and Italy, carry out joint projects and support the diaspora worldwide:
- Building international partnerships. The Department develops cooperation between regions of Ukraine and Italy, including interregional partnerships, strengthening ties between the two countries’ regions and widening the scope for cultural and economic partnership.
- Twinning programmes. The Department helps Ukrainian and Italian cities conclude twinning agreements, which make it possible to develop joint projects, cultural exchanges and cooperation between local governments.
- Supporting the integration of Ukrainians abroad. Helping Ukrainian citizens adapt to life in their new countries and take part in social and cultural life.
- Developing cultural and educational exchange. Organising festivals, workshops and educational projects that foster mutual understanding between Ukrainians and other national communities.
- Taking part in international forums. Representatives of the Department play an active part in global and European forums, promoting the interests of the Ukrainian community internationally.
