Report on the “Music for Peace” event by the “Sostieni Ucraina” association, Trapani, Sicily, Italy
On 16 June 2023, the “Giuseppe Di Stefano” theatre in Trapani, Sicily, hosted a charity concert featuring Ukrainian musicians from the Kyiv Philharmonic, entitled “United for Peace”
The aim of the event: to counter Russian propaganda.
The “Sostieni Ucraina” association, together with representatives and members of the Ukrainian community, contacted the mayor and the local administration well in advance. The Consul General of Ukraine in Italy was also informed.
Open letter to the Comune of Trapani
“An event of this kind took place only once, and it has not been repeated in our area to this day – we hope it never will be. What is more, the organisers and the local administration gave us their full support and helped us prepare and stage the performance by the Ukrainian artists. We are very pleased with the outcome of our work,” said Olha Muliak, Vice-President of the “Sostieni Ucraina” association.
