Symphony of Unity: The Music of Europe

Департамент культури#Culture

On 9 May 2026, the cultural and artistic event “Symphony of Unity: The Music of Europe”, dedicated to Europe Day, took place on Google Meet.

The online gathering was attended by the regional leadership, the heads of culture departments of the military administrations of the region's towns and villages, staff of cultural institutions, and the heads, teachers and pupils of art schools.

The event was a vivid example of how art, culture and spiritual values bring the European community together. The festive atmosphere was created by classical music, video presentations of European countries and an elegant musical accompaniment performed by the Johann Strauss Orchestra under the world-famous Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu.

At the start of the meeting, the host stressed the special significance of Europe Day for Ukraine – a country that today is not only defending its own independence but also standing up for the democratic values of the entire civilised world. Those present observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen defenders, civilians and children who have been victims of Russian aggression.

A highlight of the event was the address by Liudmyla Horbachyk, Director of the Culture Department of the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy, who emphasised the importance of cultural diplomacy, international support for Ukraine and the spiritual unity of Ukrainians with the European community.

The central idea of the event was a musical journey through the countries of Europe, during which participants were able to discover the cultural traditions, history and musical heritage of different nations.
