“The Beauty of Silence” by Iryna Medvedovska – Ukrainian Art Weeks

From 9 to 16 June 2026, the space at Piazza Venezia, 6 in Rome, with the support of the European Parliament Office in Italy, hosted “The Beauty of Silence”, an exhibition by the Ukrainian artist Iryna Medvedovska and the first event of Ukrainian Art Weeks.

Iryna Medvedovska is a Ukrainian artist and book designer who moved to Italy after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine. The country’s culture, architecture, landscape and atmosphere have become important sources of inspiration for her work.

Although she lives abroad, she continues to work remotely as art director of one of Ukraine’s leading publishing houses, where she has earned recognition for her professionalism and creative vision.

Iryna Medvedovska is a member of the association Un Ponte di Colori, affiliated with the Department of Culture of the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy (CNAUI).

In her work the artist conveys emotions, memories, dreams and a love of life. By exploring her inner world and personal experience, she invites viewers to discover themselves and the world around them afresh. She works in the style of Semi-Abstract Expressionism.

Over the course of her career Iryna has taken part in numerous exhibitions in Ukraine, and in her four years in Italy she has shown her work in 16 group and solo exhibitions. Her paintings are held in private collections in Ukraine, Italy, the United States, Germany, the Czech Republic and Montenegro.

“The Beauty of Silence” is devoted to the inner world of the human being: to feelings, memories and the search for harmony. Through colour, form and emotion, the works capture moments of calm, reflection and silence that are so often lost in the fast pace of modern life.

Each painting is an invitation to pause, listen to oneself and feel the beauty of simple yet deeply meaningful moments. The exhibition creates a space for a personal dialogue between viewer and art, where silence becomes the language of emotion, memory and inspiration.
